The Naked Vigneron is a lovely 11-hectare (27-acre) organic vineyard in Margueron, Gironde, within an easy reach from Eymet, Duras, or Bergerac. The name “naked” refers to their organic methods, which means they don’t use pesticides or herbicides on their vines.
David and Amanda Moore, along with their two children, run the vineyard. In 2010, they pursued their dream of making organic wine and left their home in Yorkshire Dales to take over a neglected farmhouse and vineyard in France called Chateau Bonté. Through their dedication and hard work, they have restored the estate to its former splendour, producing exquisite Bordeaux AOC wines amidst the breathtaking landscapes of the South West of France.
During your visit, enjoy wine tasting or treat yourself to a delightful six-course lunch or dinner in their private courtyard. Explore the vineyard and winery on a tour, or simply unwind with a picnic by the pond. Advanced booking is required for dining. Vineyard walks and tastings are available every day! You can even participate in the Adopt A Row of Naked Vines (or A Single Naked Vine) programs, discovering the journey from Vine to Wine while sampling the delights along the way!
The vineyard is part of a larger 38-hectare farm where they also grow organic hay and other crops. Visitors can wander through the vines and along the farm paths, enjoying the tranquility of the French countryside. Deer are sometimes spotted grazing among the vines.
