Sarlat Goose Festival

Each year, Sarlat in the Dordogne hosts the annual Fest’Oie, a celebration of the region’s famous foie gras and goose dishes. The event will take place this year on the first weekend of March, from March 1 to March 2, 2025.

Geese parades and a market day on Saturday (March 1) are on the agenda!

Watch the geese march through the town centre as the farmers lead them to traditional French music. Savour duck and goose delicacies at the stalls- such as foie gras, Sarladaise potatoes (cooked in duck fat in a pan), goose sausages, drumsticks, Salade Périgourdine, and even carcass soup!

There will be live cooking demonstrations showcasing impressive goose carving techniques for those who want to try their hand at home.

The children will have fun with art workshops such as calligraphy and pottery— it’s perfect for a family outing!
